Overview

Developing a Policy

School Governors should look to develop an energy efficiency policy which:
• Makes a clear statement of commitment
• Specifies clear objectives and targets for energy consumption
• Identifies responsibilities and resources
• Provides an action plan and states how it will be achieved
• Sets out the review timeframe.

The Governors should review the policy periodically and report savings and areas for improvement.
Consider booking an Energy Sparks virtual energy audit for more support to help you develop an energy action plan. We encourage a governor to attend the virtual audit session alongside your business manager, site manager, eco-team lead and some student representatives.
